Gypsy girl
I am doubly peeved at white racism when it wants to pair itself with exoticism of women in the race it’s disparaging/playing dress-up as. THERE IS A REASON WHY SEXUAL VIOLENCE RATES FOR WHITE WOMEN ARE STATISTICALLY LOWER THAN THOSE FOR WOMEN OF COLOR. AND LARGELY, IT’S SHIT LIKE THIS.
And of course, we cannot forget that it’s the white menz who perpetuate sexual violence more than anybody else.

- BoI am so tired of seeing this image (from Ian McKell’s “New Gypsies”)… not only is it, as has been mentioned, exotification and sexualization of my people, it also is much more insidious than that.
The people in this photo spread are NOT Rroma, Romany, Romanichal, Pavee, Kale or any other UK-based “Gypsy” group. They are, as the title suggests “New Gypsies” … also known as New Age Travellers.
As far as I’m concerned, these people are the scum of the Earth.
In the sixties some fucked up dead head punks decided that being a “Gypsy” looked cool and rad and whatever the hell. So they packed up and grew out locks and started ‘fighting the system from the fields’.
They, however, do NOT have a conscience. They trash farm crops. They leave shit everywhere. They aggressively get in the face of anyone who comes near. They may have appropriated our vardos and our horses; but that is all they can take - because they are NOT US.
They are the worst kind of wannabes.
They have caused so much trouble for the REAL Traveller and Romany populations. They have caused stop sites to be shut down and farmers to refuse entry where once they’d allow us.
Kate Moss is no fucking Gypsy either - she’s just another giant wannabe with her fucking tits hanging out and her marime ass draped all over something she shouldn’t even be touching. She has no idea how much damage she did with this spread for a magazine. She has no idea how her stupid “Gypsy wedding”, so inspired by these “New Gypsies” damaged us.
I am so tired of Gadze playing at being something they aren’t. Of course these people are proud to be called “Gypsy” - they have no real understanding of what that word means. How many thousands died with it tattooed on their arms; how many were rounded up and shot because of it; or even how many suffer for it today in ghettos and slums and pogroms.
