The way Martha’s attitude towards Rose changes completely. [Note: this is NOT post hating on Martha. On the contrary, it’s a Martha appreciation post.]

I don’t think this is a CHANGE in attitude. I think Martha is rightly annoyed with being compared to the IDEA of Rose. however, she is a GOOD PERSON and a GOOD FRIEND, and she is genuinely happy for her friend, the Doctor, finding the love of his life (or regeneration or whatever) again after seeing him heartsick and heartbroken. 

That’s… nuance. That’s being able to have more than one emotion at once. It’s not Martha’s obligation to be always understanding of the Doctor and always there for him when he is hurting. She is her own person with her own emotional needs. She leaves the TARDIS to protect herself from him. His hurt is genuine. But it’s hurting her too. And she’s not married to him. She didn’t make a vow to be with him through it all. So she’s doing what’s best for MARTHA. And that pisses a lot of people off. It’s perfectly acceptable for her to “dump” the Doctor because of his issues, and how he can’t properly SEE her as the action  hero badass that she is because he’s so fixated on the memory of Rose. And it’s perfectly acceptable for her to still love and care for him, and want the best for him. 

That’s being a real person with a complicated life. It’s not clear-cut, but it’s human. 

Also… the Doctor is a great big bag of dicks.
