Probably because people routinely serve boy slash with a heaping helping of misogyny. “Canon Female Love Interest is a stupid bitch therefore manlove.”Yeah except it’s usually even more generalized like you can’t have gay without women not knowing how to do something they’re generally good at according to straight guys.
Well, yes, that too. Girls are inferior, therefore manlove. Especially saddening when women are writing this into fic. Look, you can have your gay boys without passively or explicitly denigrating your own gender; it doesn’t make you subversive or cool.
