Can we talk about how historical museums are full of stolen artifacts, taken by racist white/white identifying anthropologists who thought PoC were too dumb and savage to care for their own historical heritage? Can we talk about how painful it is for me to go to museums and see my cultures in display cases with white names credited all around them?

I never thought id see the day where i’d argue with a POC on something like this, but to assume that museums are “full” of artifacts were stolen from these peoples because we thought they were “too savage” to take care of their own history, is complete bullshit. Maybe some items yes, but to say that most were not excavated, gifts, donated by those peoples/ancestors of those peoples(this is probably the largest in my honest opinion), or replicated is completely ridiculous. (NOT saying that some items were possibly stolen, or traded for lesser value items, white people are horrible and a grand majority of whites think like this, i know this to be true, but i have more faith in the scientific community than that.)

Most artifacts taken from PoC countries were stolen. STOLEN. As in: taken without permission. Kindly choke on a wheelbarrow of dicks, and drown in mayonnaise, cracker. 

Oh hey fellow white person.  You need to get the hell off this thread.  The OP is discussing the thief of artifacts from their culture/their people, and you pop in and decide that POC just thought - oh, I think I’ll give all my precious artifices to some random white people.

Colonization, missionary work, war, and lots of other things contributed to the fact that white people feel ownership over the items made by POC.  You should feel incredibly embarrassed and ashamed to be upholding those institutions.

I’m also amused/horrified by the lack of knowledge demonstrated in the assertion that an artifact that was excavated could not also be stolen. White folks invading and digging up your country and taking all the awesome shit they found home with them…kinda stealing!
